Despite the fact that we do not play world championships or youth championships, life goes on. And you have to give yourself to hockey. There is no point in setting low standards.


We are going in such a way that the guys develop, so that they have interest, so that we push them to the top. But they didn`t think like this: Let`s wait 2-3 years when they will let us play international matches. We don`t have time for this. You have to give the boys the opportunity to grow in the work you enjoy.


The process must be constant. You have to watch NHL games and take some things for yourself.


In November, I watched two Detroit games with Washington and the Islanders next to Scotty Bowman, Brendan Shanahan, Steve Yzerman. I found myself thinking that I didn`t really like these two matches in terms of the structure of the game.


In principle, our hockey is more interesting - what we do in Torpedo is more interesting. This is an opportunity to give a part of the game we played to these guys so that they can pass it on to the fans in Nizhny Novgorod.


After watching these two matches, I realized that not everything is actually so bad.
