The Bruins contract with the hockey player two days after the signing.

In 2016, at the time, 14-year-old Miller admitted in court that he bullied his disabled black classmate, Isaiah Meyer-Croters.

The decision to sign this young man was made after careful consideration of the facts known to us: at the age of 14, he made the wrong decision, which led to a juvenile sentence.

We considered that this was an isolated incident, after which he took significant actions to correct and strive for continuous personal development. Based on that, we offered him a contract.

Given the new information, we believe that now the best solution would be to cancel the opportunity for Miller to represent Boston.

We hope that he will continue to work with programs for further education and personal growth.

We regret that the decision [to sign] overshadowed the incredible work our members are doing to support diversity and inclusion efforts.

We will continue to speak out against bullying and racism in all its forms, " said Cam Neely.
