Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal will not take part in next week`s ATP 500 tournament in Dubai, as he has not fully recovered from a back injury that occurred before the Australian Open. This was announced by the number 2 in the world for men today. Nadal has been battling the problem since the beginning of 2021 and it was clear that he was entering the first Grand Slam of the year with an unhealed injury. To give himself more rest, he withdrew from the ATP Cup team tournament with the Spanish national team and still reached the quarterfinals in Melbourne without losing a set. But then he was removed by Stefanos Tsitsipas. The 34-year-old Nadal, who has won 20 Slam titles and has not played a single match to date, was honored with a `wildcard` for the Dubai tournament from March 14th to March 20th.

`I want to thank Dubai Tennis for sending me an invitation and a wildcard for their tournament. I seriously considered going and playing in the tournament, but my team and I decided it wasn`t the right time yet, ` Nadal wrote in his profile onTwitter.

However, Nadal is still registered in the group of participants of the Miami Open - a tournament from soccer tipster of the ATP 1000 chain, scheduled for the period March 24-April 4.
